Small beginnings but a lot of hope; this is Joseph Peters a man with magic in his music

From writing his very own song at the age of four to owning his very own music academy Joseph Peters has done it all. Peters is a very well-known Musician and teacher in Mumbai. He has been teaching Music for over 30 years now. Peters started learning music when he was 3 years old. As a child, his parents enrolled him in singing and guitar lessons. Peters learned quickly and developed an interest in music. By the time he was 10, he started performing in live shows and participated in competitions where he always ended up winning.

When he was 11 years old, his father died suddenly. He distanced himself from music as a result. His mother was the sole breadwinner in the family, and with two other siblings, music lessons became a luxury for Peters. This, however, did not impact his love for music. Peter grabbed every opportunity he got in school from singing competitions to plays that gave him a platform to hone his skills as well as learn.

As he grew in his teenage years and joined college it was then when he was actually into the platform which would allow him to grow and excel. When in college he participated in one of the most significant college events like Malhar, and Kaleidoscope which allowed him to grow and excel. Joseph went ahead and completed his Radio engineering at St Xaviers Institute of Technology. Though he was in college he managed to continue his gigs as well as teach students music.

Slowly he entered the music field and played as a playback guitarist for many small-stage Bollywood movies. After playing playback for more than 15 years he was able to create a very impactful career. He also released his tracks and albums which have been played across various parts of the country for events. Now that he was part of shows and was well-recognized. But that was not enough for him; he wanted to do something of his own.

Therefore, he started his Music and Singing academy called JAM (Joe’s Academy of Music) where he was able to create a great impact on his students. His students have reached great heights and have participated in national and international events such as Voice India, Indian Idol, and the battle of bands. He says he is proud and elated about what he has garnered in all these years of hard work. Handling the academy came with a lot of challenges but Peters overcame it all and hopes his academy stands united and strong.

Now that he has retired his son Joshua Peters is in charge of the academy and runs it wholeheartedly. By profession, Joshua is a full-time drummer he has played for many well-known bands and has also released his very own solo Eps.

After retiring Joe is venturing his world into online platforms by conducting classes online and having international seminars with students and learners and enthusiasts throughout the world. His journey is a very difficult yet exciting one but most importantly a very new learning experience he has ever had in his entire lifetime.
