BEST launches Mira Road-Dahisar metro station bus route

The Mumbai Electric Supply and Transport (BEST) has announced a new bus route from Mira Road station to Dahisar metro station, which will begin operating on February 13th, 2023. The route will pass through several bus stops including Kashimira, SilverPark, J&K Bank Marg, and Mira Road which will provide commuters with a quick and convenient travel experience.

The lack of proper transport infrastructure, especially between Dahisar metro station to Mira road station, can lead to frustration and inconvenience for passengers, and in some cases, even lead them to opt for alternative modes of transportation, like private vehicles causing increased traffic and pollution in the city. Addressing these challenges requires a concerted effort from local authorities, transport operators, and the community as a whole, to ensure that the necessary improvements are made to road connectivity to enhance the overall efficiency and reliability of the new bus transport services.

The new bus route aims at improving passenger comfort on public transportation, which has become the need of the hour for commuters living in Mira Road. BEST plans to increase the fleet size to 7,000 buses to meet this need. The new route will follow the same path as regular public transportation, but with altered hours of operation. The 15-minute intervals between buses will make it easier for commuters to plan their travel in advance. BEST has also announced five to six routes on the metro lines to deliver to the general public a comfortable means of travel. Buses that will depart towards Mira Road from Dahisar Metro include 203, 205, 207, 210 LTD, and 701 LTD (Limited stops). Despite being only 3 kilometers from Mira Road, the introduction of a new bus route from Dahisar metro station is expected to significantly impact commuters who travel every day to work, college, etc. With fewer private automobiles on the road and more people opting for public transportation, it is believed that the new way will ease traffic congestion and pollution.
